Galderma, the aesthetic company behind Restylane fillers and Dysport neurotoxin, is seeing a clear increase in demand for facial volume treatments tied directly to the rise of GLP-1 weight loss drugs—and CEO Flemming Ornskov said the company is observing an "early boost" from the trend.
Patients using GLP-1 agonists, including Novo Nordisk's Ozempic and Wegovy, often experience rapid weight loss that can leave the face gaunt or hollowed—a phenomenon widely called "Ozempic face." Those patients are actively seeking cosmetic procedures to restore lost facial volume and improve skin contour.
Galderma's product portfolio is well-suited to that demand. Its hyaluronic acid-based Restylane line targets volume loss directly, while Dysport, its neurotoxin offering, complements filler treatments by softening dynamic wrinkles. Together, the two franchises let Galderma capture multiple procedures from the same patient.
The GLP-1 market continues its rapid expansion, with millions more patients expected to begin treatment in coming years. That growing base creates a sustained demand channel for aesthetic procedures and opens a patient segment that did not exist at this scale before.
Galderma did not disclose financial metrics tied to the trend, but Ornskov's remarks signal a durable incremental revenue opportunity. AbbVie, with its Botox and Juvederm brands, is also positioned to benefit—making this a rising tide for the broader medical aesthetics sector.
