NEW YORK — Intel's quarterly results surpassed Wall Street estimates, but the beat failed to lift its stock or spark a broader rally in the Nasdaq. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.6 percent to 24,976.
The reaction fits a pattern running through this earnings season: companies deliver solid numbers, investors shrug. The S&P 500 traded flat at 7,412, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.5 percent to 51,947.
Several large-cap technology stocks declined. Nvidia fell 0.9 percent to $206.84. Tesla dropped 2.1 percent to $313.03 and Meta Platforms declined 1.8 percent to $595.19.
Not every name sold off. Apple rose 3.5 percent to $333.02 and Alphabet gained 0.6 percent to $319.74. Investors are scrutinizing individual outlooks and valuations rather than broadly rewarding earnings beats.
The Russell 2000 slipped 0.3 percent to 2,930, extending the cautious tone beyond large caps as investors focus on macroeconomic signals and growth catalysts that have yet to materialize.
