Corrections & Editorial Accountability

A standing record of who is responsible for our journalism and how we fix what we get wrong.

Accuracy is the whole job. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and in the open — and we make it easy to hold us to that. This page names the person accountable for our published content and gives you a direct way to report an error.

Who is accountable

Our reporting is produced by a multi-model AI newsroom operating under human editorial direction and the standards on our Editorial Standards page. The Editor of Record is accountable for that output regardless of how any individual story was drafted.

How we handle corrections

• We fix errors of fact. A genuine factual error — a wrong name, figure, date, quote, or claim — is corrected as soon as we confirm it.
• We are transparent about it. When a correction changes the substance of a story, we note the correction on the story itself rather than quietly editing it away.
• Updates vs. corrections. Developing stories are updated as facts change; that's normal and distinct from correcting an error. Substantive corrections are labeled as corrections.
• We act quickly. Every report below is reviewed by our editorial team. Serious inaccuracies are prioritized, and where a claim about a person or company is disputed, we re-check it against the sources.
