MoonPay launched PayBox, allowing users of AI models like Claude and ChatGPT to move, trade and spend digital assets directly within chat interfaces. The product bridges conversational AI with on-chain liquidity, cutting the friction points that keep new users out of crypto onboarding and asset management.
PayBox executes financial commands through natural language prompts. Users can initiate stablecoin transfers, swap tokens or make payments without leaving their AI chat environment. MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said PayBox "removes significant friction, allowing millions of AI users to access digital assets with rare ease and security." The platform supports major stablecoins and offers a fiat-to-crypto onramp directly within the AI interface.
The integration targets users who have never touched a crypto wallet, aiming to expand the on-chain user base beyond the cohort already cycling through market sentiment cycles. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index currently sits at 29, deep in "Fear" territory — but PayBox is not playing to existing holders. It is building the top of the funnel, driving new wallet creations and on-chain transaction volume from a fresh demographic.
PayBox abstracts wallet management for routine transactions, which directly increases stablecoin flow velocity across chains. Users can acquire assets for DeFi participation or NFT purchases through a conversational interface, bypassing multiple steps in current user flows and shortening the path from intent to execution. A user can instruct an AI to "send 100 USDC to wallet X" or "swap 0.5 ETH for SOL" — that is a direct hit on cognitive load and a real reduction in self-custody friction.
That frictionless execution opens the door to AI-driven financial automation at scale. The more natural-language transactions clear, the more on-chain volume compounds from users who previously had no path in.
MoonPay plans to expand PayBox integrations to additional AI models and broaden supported blockchain networks in the fourth quarter. The company expects to release an updated developer toolkit for custom AI integrations by late November, opening the next wave of adoption from the builder community.
