If an AVS were to suffer a catastrophic exploit or a critical bug, it could trigger widespread slashing events, potentially impacting the security of other AVSs and even creating contagion within the broader Ethereum ecosystem. Yet this innovation comes with significant financial risks, particularly concerning the EIGEN token's economic model and the potential for systemic contagion in a multi-layered security environment—risks that demand a deep understanding of the technical intricacies and a sober assessment before committing capital.
