LOS ANGELES — Ceddanne Rafaela hit two home runs Saturday, leading the Boston Red Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium and clinching Boston's eighth straight series win.
Rafaela's second homer of the night, a 402-foot solo shot to left-center off a Yoshinobu Yamamoto splitter, tied the game at two in the third inning. It was his third consecutive game with a home run.
The Dodgers had taken a 2-1 lead in the second inning on a two-run home run by Teoscar Hernandez off Red Sox pitcher Payton Tolle.
The three-game streak is Rafaela's second of his career. He previously hit home runs in three straight games June 2-4 against the Los Angeles Angels, going 6-for-14 with three home runs, five RBI and a double in that series.
Rafaela joins Jarren Duran, who hit home runs in three consecutive games from June 29-July 2, 2024, as Red Sox outfielders to accomplish the feat recently.
On the season, Rafaela is hitting.288 with a.798 OPS and 14 home runs. On Friday, he went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in a 9-4 Red Sox win over Los Angeles.
