Prysmian SpA agreed to acquire U.S.-based electrical products maker Atkore Inc. for $3.8 billion in an all-cash transaction announced Monday, Aug. 3, expanding its reach in the North American market.
The deal values Atkore at $95 per share. Prysmian said the acquisition is designed to establish a leading electrical infrastructure solutions provider serving data center buildouts, telecommunications projects and renewable energy installations across the United States.
Atkore's portfolio—electrical conduit, cable management systems and related infrastructure components—complements Prysmian's existing cable and systems business, giving the combined company broader product coverage for large-scale projects.
Prysmian said the unified commercial network will improve market penetration and allow the combined entity to serve complex infrastructure projects from a single platform, integrating Atkore's U.S. market expertise with Prysmian's global manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
The implied enterprise value for Atkore stands at approximately $3.8 billion. Integration will involve combining operational structures and sales teams, which Prysmian said will streamline service delivery to a broader customer base.
The transaction reflects wider consolidation in the electrical and industrial manufacturing sectors, as companies expand geographic reach and product offerings to capitalize on accelerating infrastructure spending.
