TYSONS CORNER, Va. — Strategy sold 1,638 bitcoin between July 27 and Aug. 2 at an average price of $63,957 per coin, generating $104.7 million and pushing its U.S. dollar reserve to $4 billion.

The sales came in below Strategy's overall average cost basis of $75,476 per bitcoin. The company acquired its 842,138 BTC for approximately $63.69 billion in total. Before this latest sale, it held 843,775 BTC.

The $290.6 million in new capital came from common stock sales, funding liquidity without requiring deeper bitcoin liquidation. Strategy also repurchased $81.2 million in STRC preferred shares, trimming outstanding preferred equity and tightening its capital structure.

This is Strategy's third bitcoin sale of 2026 and its largest by volume. The pace has accelerated sharply: the company sold just 32 BTC roughly one month ago, a smaller transaction that sent crypto prices lower at the time.

Strategy previously authorized a program to sell up to $1.25 billion of its bitcoin to fund its U.S. dollar reserve. The recent transactions draw directly from that authorization.

The reserve's climb has been fast. It stood at $2.55 billion as of July 5, then rose to $3.2 billion and $3.75 billion through successive common stock sales before hitting $4 billion with the latest transactions.

Bitcoin currently trades at $62,614, down 0.7 percent over the last 24 hours — below both Strategy's average cost basis and the average sale price from the most recent transactions.

Strategy remains the world's largest corporate bitcoin holder.
